About The Club The Downside Fisher Youth Club supports socially
excluded children and young people from
Bermondsey and its neighbouring areas, and
enables them to fulfil their potential as capable,
confident young adults through a structured
programme of sporting, artistic and recreational
activities. The club is fortunate to own extensive sporting
and recreational facilities, and are able to offer
challenging experiences and learning
opportunities that are not otherwise easily
available to young people in this deprived area of
London. As a result, the club is highly valued in
the local community for its role in teaching club
members respect and fair play, and broadening
their horizons. The club is currently open to 9 – 25 year olds of
both sexes (although most members are aged 11 - 19
16) and has a lively mix of young people from
different ethnic and social backgrounds. Facilities and activities available at The
Downside Fisher Youth Club:
- Large multi-purpose sports hall: basketball,
short tennis, badminton, cricket, circuit training
and climbing wall
- Fully equipped teaching kitchen

- IT computer suite & homework club
- Swimming pool: swimming, water polo and
water basketball
- Residential activity weekends & summer
camp
- Dedicated boxing gymnasium: weight-training and
fitness conditioning area
